More detail on this person: BOLAM - Ltc. Paul F., 76, passed away November 1, 2009, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Born in Pittsburgh on January 27th, 1933, he was the son of the late Marjorie and William Bolam of New Bethlehem, PA. A 1955 graduate of Dickinson College, where he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. Paul joined the Army after graduation and completed flight school for both airplanes and helicopters. Flying became his passion, and he ultimately became a flight instructor at Ft. Rucker, AL. He proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam, and was shot down once but evaded capture. Upon returning to the United States, he served as director of the Aviation Test Board at Ft. Rucker and graduated from the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. After serving on the Aviation Source Selection Board in St. Louis he was assigned to the Operations Group at the United States Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. While stationed at Carlisle Barracks, Ltc. Bolam obtained his MPA from Penn State University. After retirement from the army in 1978, Ltc. Bolam worked for Arinc Research in Annapolis, MD, and for Burtek Simulators in Tulsa, OK. Ltc. Bolam is survived by: a sister, Anne Erbe of Oakmont, PA; three sons, Tom Bolam of Atlanta, GA; Bob White of Houston, TX; and John White of Tulsa; four grandchildren; and his loyal dog and constant companion, Shep, rescued from the Tulsa SPCA.
