More detail on this person: James Herbert "Jim" Brown passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at home in Jefferson, MD. He was predeceased by both his parents Thomas C. and Inez A. Brown. Jim is survived by his brother, Robert Brown (Jennifer), of Jefferson, niece Katie Brown of San Diego, and nephew Dan Brown of Philadelphia. He was a Vietnam veteran, entering the Marine Corp as a private and rising to the rank of captain. Jim received a Silver Star and Air Medal (bronze star) for actions as a Huey helicopter gunship and med-evac pilot in Southeast Asia. He was an expert on coins and sports memorabilia and will be missed by his family and numerous friends at the Frederick Owls Club. A celebration of life will be held at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD (hiltonfh.com) on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 3 to 5 PM. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 PM. He will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's honor may be made to The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs (http://www.thereligiouscoalition.org) of Frederick County.
