Hatch, retired United States Air Force Major, died January 8, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Menlo Park, CA. He was born in Louisville, KY and after retirement from the air force relocated to Milpitas, California. After retirement from the Air Force, Emmett was employed at NASA Ames Research Center, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. In addition, he was a charter member of the Bay Area Black Pilots Association, and a member of The 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley. Emmett Hatch is survived by his wife, Fannie Hatch, and children Stephanie Wroblewski, Steven Hatch. Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the VA Menlo Park Chapel, 795 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 675 N. First St. #1100, San Jose, CA. 95112.
