More detail on this person: James (Jimmy) Huhner Reynolds Jr James (Jimmy) Huhner Reynolds JR., born October 27, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana,. He died July 23, 2017, at his home after a lengthy battle with emphysema. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Goldie Fern Reynolds and their three daughters and two son-in laws: Beth and Adam Gray, Theresa and Kurt Hogan and Carolyn Reynolds. He also leaves behind five Granddaughters and two Grandson-in-Laws: Christina and Cody Bloyd, Holly Hogan, Savannah (Gray) and Brandon Gilleland, Hannah Hogan and Nancy Gray. Additionally, he leaves behind three Grandsons: Peter James Massie, Daniel Aguirre, David James Martin and Caleb Turner. Along with His Great Grandchildren: Rayden Manis, Jimmy James Massie, Carter Bloyd and Ryleigh Gilleland. Mr. Reynolds was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and is preceded in death by his parents, James Huhner Reynolds SR. and Barbara Daisy Reynolds. He is survived by his sister Janet Reynolds and preceded in death by his sister Patricia Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds joined the Service and served his Country honorably as a Medivac Helicopter Pilot from June 1966 thru November 1969. He was a Chief Warrant Officer 2 and was both a Helicopter and Airplane pilot. His courage during the Vietnam War earned him a Purple Heart, Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Combat Medical Badge along with numerous other awards and accommodations. Upon leaving the army, he continued to fly helicopters in the private sector and then attended LSU where he received a Bachelor degree in accounting. He proudly worked for Shell Oil Company for 25 years until he retired in 1997. After retirement, he shared his love of fishing with his beloved wife, grandsons and friends. He also enjoyed playing golf with his father and grandsons. Additionally, he attended numerous activities with all his grandchildren and always had a hug and kiss of congratulations. He and his dog "Benjamin" were best of friends and together until the end. His Cajun culture shaped his lifestyle and he lived by the belief that family was the most important part of one's life and graciously shared that quality throughout his life with his beloved wife and daughters. Visitation will be held Friday July 28, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Canon Funeral home. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 29, 2017 at Canon Funeral Home in Waller, TX. Followed by Burial service at Houston Cemetery in Hempstead, TX. Relatives and friends are welcome at both services and the reception at the VFW in Hempstead. Jimmy lived to be 73 years, 8 months and 26 days old.
