Additional information about this casualty:
Trained as an OH-58 pilot but wanted flight time right away after arriving in Vietnam so requested flight time in the front seat of this Cobra. Search and rescue was conducted for two or three days without results. The unit commander continued searching after the formal search was called off. There is a possibility they flew out over the sea to let down below the clouds and may have run out of fuel and crashed. from Mike Yourous.
