Accident Summary:
On final to refueling area, the pilot noted loss of power, entered autorotation, no warning lights on, applied pitch at bottom of autorotation with no effect. The aircraft hit hard and burst into flames. The gunner was killed. Supplimental information - damage to lower planetary gear system indicated internal failure with failure of power to the rotor system. Cause unknown.
