Accident Summary:
Aircraft was on a test flight after replacing a transmission oil seal and #3 PE. On climb-out, a loud pop was heard and the aircraft pitched up, spiraled to the left and crashed. It burst into flames on impact. Analysis revealed a maintenace error - the pushrod nut which attaches the pushrod to the ballast arm was not torqued and safetied.
