War Story:
Sources indicate to the VHPA that these four mem died in Quang Nam Province in the same UH-1E while serving with VMO-2. OMPF (Official Military Personnel File) for GSGT Frank Morey Jr., USMC. for 12/5/67, TN 152434. A "REPORT OF DEATH" message dated 12/5/67 stated, "050950H 13 MI SW DANANG, QUANG NAM ROVINCE, RVN. FLYING AS AERIAL GUNNER OF ARMED UH1E HELICOPTER ON ESCORT MISSION. UNDER REDUCED VISIBILITY AIRCRAFT FLEW INTO SIDE OF MOUNTAIN, EXPLODED AND BURNED. EXACT CAUSE OF DEATH UNKNOWN. SUPPLEMENTARY MSG WILL FOLLOW. REMAINS RECOVERED AT 051645H. EVACUATED TO NSA HOSPITAL, DANANG."
