War Story:
The HML-167 command chron page 6 addresses the incident and states that the aircraft and one crewman (Norsworthy) belonged to VMO-2 while the other three aircrew were HML-167. Page 7 lists the three HML-167 KIAs
by name. The VMO-2 command chron p7 lists Norsworthy by name. Their SITREP for 21 July states they did fly a cover mission for a downed helo (UH-1E 154962 per UTM) but does not mention a VMO-2 loss.
