operation DOUBLE EAGLE II information

Operation DOUBLE EAGLE II
Quang Ngai Province, South Vietnam
Description: Operation DOUBLE EAGLE I ended on the 17th. The Marines reported 312 enemy KIAs, 19 captured plus 20 tons of rice and 6 of salt and 4 of misc supplies. They also captured 18 weapons and 868 rounds of ammunition. They suffered 24 KIAs and 156 WIAs. Operation DOUBLE EAGLE II started on the 17th when the DOUBLE EAGLE I infantry units were moved 50 miles north to the Que Son Valley to engage the 1st VC Regiment. For the next ten days the Marines would swept through the area. They accounted for 125 enemy dead and 15 captured plus 28 tons of rice and 53 weapons but the 1st VC was not there.
