SUMMARY:
At 1428, a patrol from Hill 68 found a mortar site and
tunnel at BT302128. A sniper position was found at BT366136.
At 1438 hr,s B(-) trapped 20 VC at BT253085. Gunships were
called in. Neg results. Two Chicom carbines were found in
the vicinity. At 2340, B Co received mortar fire and small
arms fire, resulting in 11 patients. Gunships and flare ship
was called in. All other operations during the period produced
no significant results.

Summary: At 0027 hrs Dust Off completed 17 US personnel from Co B.
PZ BT259089. Called 2347 hrs. At 2335 hrs Co B received 20-25 incoming mortars
on AZ of 2400 mills, range 700 meters vic grid BT263085. Believed they were
60mm mortars. Had 17 casualties: 7 litter, 10 ambulatory, B6 and B2 included.
At 0910 D6 reported fox holes were 3-4 feet deep. Mortars were walked in on
Bravo side, of perimeter. Also lots of trees causing mortars to burst above
ground. At 1820 hrs D6 received 3-4 rounds of carbine sniper fire to the west.
Negative results. All other activities were of a routine nature with negative
significant results.
