Description: As part of the Post-Tet Offensive, the 3d NVA Regt attacked the SF camp at Tien Phuoc. The 1/52d Inf, 196th Inf Bde, Americal Div was sent to attack positions along the Song Bon River southeast of Tien Phuoc. The battle would last for almost a month and eventually involve four battalions under the direction of the 196th Inf Bde. The NVA had cleverly concealed bunkers with plenty of overhead cover to protect the high ground.
