Description: A/7/17th Cav reported moving to a new AO northwest of Pleiku because of intelligence reports. During the first recon team's tenure in the AO, the lead LOH was shot down by intense enemy ground fire and the wing LOH was forced down due to a fire within the aircraft. The second team was scrambled to the rescue and pulled the downed crews to safety by the use of a jungle penetrater. The Troop went on to discover a battalion size training area.
