The VHPA 2000 Calendar is the seventh calendar produced by the VHPA using Vietnam Era helicopter-related photos. The goal of the VHPA Calendar is to refresh the memories of all those who flew and worked on helicopters in Vietnam, and to record, preserve and display the events and activities that were important to those who served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. The VHPA 2000 Calendar commemorates the 2,205 helicopter pilots who died or were declared MIA (missing in action) in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Era (1961 through 1975). [Note: refer to
WWW.VHPA.ORG for the current KIA/MIA information.]
The owner or source for each photo is included in the narrative description. To the best of its ability, the VHPA obtained the owner’s permission for each photo. The VHPA fraternal thanks to Dan Calvert of the Seawolf Association for his help in getting the pilots of the only USN gunships in RVN to help out with their unique photos. The fine slides submitted by three tour Army pilot Don Joyce really made this an easy calendar to build. And last, but not least, special thanks and gratitude to the wife and son of the late Ron Timberlake for his contributions to this calendar. He’ll be missed.
